… – Did I ever mention how much I dislike the concept of time?

Been putting this off for sometime. Everyday I remind myself to write something but something seems to come up. A good portion of that blame is wow…in theory it should take less time then some of the mmo I played. However, that isn’t the case…in fact I been racking the hours at a alarming rate. Suppose it’s best it doesn’t have a feature that tells you your playtime.

Picked up several games since I last updated. The new Mortal Kombat (mk9), WWE All Stars, and Marvel vs. Capcom 3. MK has more less the same feel as the MK2 feel. WWE All Stars is pretty fun with friends, not so great as a solo game. MvC3 is pretty fun…even if sometimes you have no idea what’s going on. All out of time for now…

… – expecting too much only leads to disappointment. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have expectations…you should always have a standard.

Went back to WoW which has been eating a lot of my time. I know a lot of people say WoW can be casual. Those people probably just level characters and neglect endgame content. WoW is a MMORPG and thus grinding is expected. The only difference between WoW and other MMO is that WoW has always been cleaver about masking grinding (giving you the illusion that your not grinding).

I’ve seen the following movies; The Simpson Movie, Silent Hill, and Resident Evil: Degeneration. Found The Simpson Movie to be a rather disappointment. Just seems like they were trying too hard to please everyone. It’s not that the movie is horrible. Homer and the rest of the cast are just as entertaining. Infact the movie provides a lot of information regarding the town of Springfield (where and how the buildings are connected).

Apparently I had seen ending of Silent Hill..but forgot about it. Anyways, the movie is rather decent in terms of being true to the game. However, in that regard it’s terrible. In a game certain things are acceptable…because you take the role of the character. When you put the same mechanic but you are on the sidelines, you get a totally different experience. Watching someone running around is rather boring.

Resident Evil Degeneration was okay. I was almost going not going to bother watching it until Leon showed up. For me, Leon more or less made the movie bearable.

Xenogears: I bought this game of PSN. I’ve played this before in the psx era but I wasn’t able to finish the game. While I don’t remember the circumstances as to why I wasn’t able to completed it, I do remember it was fun.

Two World II: I also acquired this…I can’t get past the introduction… Maybe it’s me but it seems so plain and uninteresting. I really should give it another go sometime.

Slightly sleepy – Probably cause I overslept…which is rather a rare occurrence.

Somewhat interested or maybe just tempted to play wow. Still debating if I should even bother with it…

R2
Megaman X collection: Completed Megaman x5 and Megaman X. Since I’ve beaten Megaman X before; game wasn’t too hard. Well, Castle stage one was annoying until I remember what a fully charge rolling shield did…made going up those moving platform a lot easier. Phase 3 for Sigma (floating head fight) was overwhelming at first because I didn’t remember anything about that fight. Once again, rolling shield was the answer…everything else did like no damage. One full charge of the mega buster did only 1 bar of damage.

Sigma in Megaman x5 was different in terms of challenge. With Megaman, Sigma went down without too much trouble. With Zero…it’s a whole another story. Zero has a harder time fighting Sigma. I ended up using Black Armor Zero in the end. Fight is just annoying…

Probably going to take a stab at x2 next. In retrospect, taking on Megaman x5 first was a bad choice cause I miss all the cool features that the armor set provide; mainly the flying/hovering aspect.

Hungry – Well, slightly hungry…why do we generally wake up hungry?

Probably should start x-mas shopping. Usually, I’m done by now…guess it get’s rather annoying, thinking of gift to get people. Making sure you haven’t bought them that gift before. Also cross-referencing to see you don’t get the same gift your friends are getting them. What’s even worst is getting them something they already own. I guess most people just skip most of that and just toss the receipt and say; you don’t like it? go exchange it.

R2
Megaman X Collection: I was finally able to do Squid Adler (Volt Kraken) stage’s bike sequence perfectly, so I was rewarded with the last piece for the Falcon armor set. I was able to get almost all the heart tanks for Megaman aside from one (need Gaea to move blocks). I tried the Castle stage…getting through all those laser beams (one hit kill) was tricky, I was forced to use Dark hold (stop time so I could get through…even with it, you got to move fast).

I was greeted by Shadow Devil which shouldn’t come as a surprise…he’s challenging. I’m not good with his pattern (I get hit a lot when he’s reforming/blocks flying across the stage). I did found a way to avoid all the block nonsense but it required the Gaea armor. You can hang off walls with it, if you stay on top of the walls during the reforming phase (where blocks go across screen) you can avoid the whole process and take no damage. I was overjoyed and was going to get last piece of Gaea when I realized something very important. I’m terrible at the laser beam part (need dark hold to get through) and the Gaea is slow and you don’t get any special robot master weapons. I tried the same tactic with the Falcon and had some success but my finger got tried of pressing the jump button so fast. Occasionally you will take damage…seems random but generally you don’t. I need a turbo controller…

Sleepy – Should that surprise anyone?

Should of, could of, but didn’t…guess I’m getting pretty bad with updating this. Maybe I’m just losing interest, or maybe my mind just been preoccupied with other things?

Seems like winter is finally here, maybe it’s the old age talking but I’m starting to dislike winter…

R2
Megaman X collection: Started playing megaman x5. I probably should of started on normal difficulty but I decided to go with extreme mode. Although, I’m making progress, have defeated the eight robot masters, I’m lacking the confidence to take on the castle stages. I’m lacking X’s armor set (Force, Gaea, Falcon).

I kind of regret not picking X in the first stage, could of gotten the force armor…all I got with zero was a Z-buster. Unfortunately, Z-buster is rather useless; limited range, can’t charge it, can’t fire it in the air, can’t fire it while moving it (he stops when he shoots it) and very limited application (Z-saber is always the better choice 99.5% of the time). Well, at least that how I would rate it based on my experience so far.

Squid Adler (Volt Kraken) stage has given me the most trouble, that bike section of the game is pretty brutal when you first try it. Worst part about it is you need to collect those energy sparks to get a Doctor Light capsule (Falcon head piece). That’s the part I’m at, trying to get to that Doctor Light capsule. I need Falcon set to reach the other Gaea pieces…

Sleepy – I can’t fall asleep just yet…

Today I was greeted with a present on steam. Left 4 Dead 2…was a present I got from a friend. While I was appreciate the fact he bought me something, think I would be happier if he hadn’t done so. Too sleepy to explain why I feel that way.

R2
WKC: I still don’t see why this game appeals to him so much. Out of curiosity or I’m just being reckless/foolish, but I’m playing this game again in fast mode (new game+ and skipping all cs).

Slightly sore – Feeling better then yesterday.

I always find it funny how people always say they don’t have much stuff or how they say they only buy things they need. Yet, if your unfortunate enough to be one of those people they ask to move, you realize that what they is a lie. I was asked to help a family member on short noticed…”don’t worry I have much stuff.”

I suppose I should be glad that I’m done but I’m not. Mainly because it was implied that I’m helping another family member move within a month and apparently he has more stuff/heavier items. There’s possibility that there might be another person moving. Logic would dictate I should prepare for it.

I was able to complete Company of Heroes, game had some difficult missions near the end. I was playing on easy though, so I suppose it’s not a big accomplishment but a small one at least and rts games are pretty addicting. I also picked up FF XIV up…

R2
SSF IV: Finally found a character I can tolerate. So, I been trying to learn the match up for this character. I did have a match with my friend online. It was pretty exciting actually.

Ibuki vs. Akuma (best of 5)

First match my friend won, 5 seconds left and I got angst and ate a air fireball (he won with 3 seconds left).

Second match went at a faster pace and I ended up taking it with a ultra.

Third match went to him, after a blocked air kunai, he responded with Shun Goku Satsu. Once I landed I ate it…yeah, things were looking grim. My debut match and I was on the verge of losing it.

Fourth match almost went down exactly like the third except I was able to counter his Shun Goku Satsu with my ultra (Yoroitoshi). Almost looked unhuman…cause getting the timing to go off as Akuma reached you is pretty amazing.

Fifth match, he became a little too angst and did his Shun Goku Satsu while I was in air but I hadn’t done my air kunai yet. So, he got air kunai to the face and I won the set. I don’t think he was overall happy with the results since it felt like he was robbed. However, that’s how some matches go. I haven’t seen him in two days, I bet he’s been practicing.

Rather sleepy – Probably should be sleeping…

Regardless of what your playing, if your with friends, even the worst of games can be fun or at least tolerable. This wasn’t case with Company of Heroes but it’s something one should keep in mind. So when we loaded Company of Heroes this past weekend…it was for the very first time. Once again we knew nothing…mainly because we didn’t want to go through ingame tutorial. Even though we won the first couple of games against the computer, it felt like we lost. We only won on a technicality (point system), the sad reality was…we lost. Realistically the computer had us beat (controlled most the map/resources/more advance units)…but because the it was set on easy, it didn’t win (didn’t destroyed us). By end of the night, more or less we learned the basics.

R2
WKC: My friend and I had an interesting conversation a few days ago. The action gauge (attack/magic/item) speed is based on your gear you wear. The lighter the gear the faster it will charge, while heavy gear would make it charge slower. I told him that was kind of messed up logic. While I understand the fundamental idea (the heavier your load, the slower you would move/act in combat). It’s messed up on the fact that in theory you could go naked into battle and have the fastest actions. We actually decided to test this theory out…much to our surprise, it worked. Infact, we killed the boss for a particular quest faster then usual, about 30-45seconds faster.

Rather content – Update day for one of my mmo’s…

After searching for long, I think I found it. For the past year or so, I been searching for a snack that’s fulfilling and restores you mentally. I think I might of found it in the form of a grapefruit. However, after reading about grapefruit on wiki…I might have to start my search again…

We tried several fan made maps for Alien Swarm, unfortunately, most of them weren’t as fun/challenging/long as the campaign’s counter-part. To make matters worse, they didn’t give experience points. Guess, we’re going to be moving on to something else. Seems like we will be playing Company of Heroes. I have no idea what kind of game it is but I bought for the sake of friendship. I guess, I sort of feel guilty that we can’t play any Blizzard Entertainment games (wow, Diablo series, star craft II, etc) . I refuse to play anything from them until they get rid of that real ID system. It’s because my friends respect my decision that I can fork over $2.50 (don’t you just love sales?).

R2
S.U.G.C: Finished Sonic the Hedgehog. Despite having zero hp (zero rings), final boss was a push over. I did have to fight him twice though. After the ending sequence had started, I prematurely hit the boss at a wrong angle and fell of the ledge. I laughed…didn’t think it was possible.

W.k.c: My friend convinced me to go online for White Knight Chronicles. We mainly did grinding to increase our g.r (forget what that stands for). Most of the quests we did were boring, we were like 10+ levels too high for them. Friend says the later quests are more fun and interesting.

A bit sore – didn’t sleep too well…

Think I might of made my friend depressed yesterday…sometime I wonder why I even bother talking about such topics. Maybe I should take a page from another friend I know…who always refuses talking about such unsavory topics.

We also completed Alien Swarm (Jacob’s campaign) on normal difficulty. We did it as two player…since our other friends usually can’t stay up and play with us. Not sure, if he would like to play on insane difficulty…we started on insane and we got brutally destroyed when we first began the game. We of course didn’t know much about the game or buttons (too lazy to read manuals or button configuration screens – we just wanted to jump in).

R2
Nier: Made some progress but sort of been getting side-tracked. I went back and played Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection.

S.U.G.C: Played most of Sonic the Hedgehog. I stopped at labyrinth cause that used to be difficult for me. In fact I resorted to using the in-game save feature. Labyrinth isn’t so bad with no sound…I used to dread those 3 stages as a child (OMG NO AIR BUBBLES….AHHHHHH!). I went back a day later and made it to Scrap Brain zone…that zone is rather challenging.

Played a bit of Streets of Rage also. Normal difficult is challenging…especially the near the end of the game…where you fight bosses all over again (usual two at a time).

Played a few others but can’t recall the names of them…mainly just randomly playing them to see how game mechanic worked. Seems like all those games…you need to master the art of jumping. Almost every game has different gravity physics…so jumping in game A can vastly differ from jumping in game B.
